Eric Delaney died in July 2011, aged 87.

I first came across Eric on my first trip to Benidorm as a tourist in 1998.

Eric was performing at the Talk of the Town in the 12 o'clock spot and I have to say he blew me away with his drumming skills and showmanship for a man of his years even then. I was so impressed that I went back to see him another two times that week.

It was thanks to that holiday that I decided to up sticks and move to Benidorm for good, little did I know that I would be on the same bill as Eric when I was signed up by The Town when I arrived.

I worked with Eric on the same bill as Johnnie Hacket and George Roper for over two years and got to know him very well as a man and an entertainer. He was the ultimate professional in every aspect of his life and I will miss him so much.

There was only one Eric Delaney. Rest in Peace.
